Dual relationships create opportunities for ethical violations for professional counselors. Choose two of the following settings: public/community mental health clinic, private practice, family therapy, school counseling, addiction treatment, group counseling. For each setting, explore two possible dual relationship scenarios and discuss at least one possible ethics violation that could arise for each scenario. Be sure to identify the ethical code from the ACA Code of Ethics that is violated in the scenario you described. These scenarios can be based upon real experiences that you have encountered or have heard about from colleagues or they can be fictional accounts that you create. This paper should be approximately 750-1000 words and include a properly formatted title page. No more than 5% of the body of your paper can be comprised of direct quotes. Only use scholarly sources published in the past 5 years. Only write in the third person. Doctoral-level analysis and writing is expected.
