Ethical Dilemma Paper in consideration of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Physiological Needs – These are biological requirements for human survival – food, clothing, shelter, touch. If these needs are not satisfied the human body cannot function optimally.
Safety & Security Needs – Protection from the elements including crime, fear, violence, feeling protected
Love & Belonging – After physiological and safety needs have been fulfilled, the third level of human needs is social and involved feelings of belongingness social support, friendship, intimacy, trust, acceptance and love.
Self-Esteem Needs – Maslow indicated that the need for respect or reputation is most important for children and adolescents. Examples – recognition, independence, dignity.
Self-Actualization – self-awareness, ability to give to others without needed back, use of abilities, realizing personal potential.
